Program Description:

Max Kade Fellowship Program

The American Austrian Foundation, a non-profit, non-governmental organization, seeks to enhance the relationship between the United States and Austria through providing the Max Kade Fellowship for student exchange in medicine, science, communications, and the arts. Students may choose from an array of clinical specialties. Students must be able to perform standard clinical duties while in Vienna and are expected to work with a designated faculty mentor, who will evaluate the student's progress. This elective is offered each year to GW students during the months of February, March, and April. Information about applying will be made available in the Fall. The Max Kade Foundation offers scholarships to those qualified medical students, which covers transportation to and from Austria, as well as room and board. Knowledge of German is helpful for this elective.

What to Do When You Login:

The system will prompt you to select which semester you would like to attend your international clinical elective. You will not choose by elective block, but rather put Fall, Spring, or Summer depending on the month you will be going abroad.
