The European Business School (EBS) is a leader in finance, logistics, automotive management, and real estate. Founded in 1971, EBS is the oldest private business school with university status in Germany and its campus occupies several historic buildings, creating an inspiring environment. GW exchange students may take elective coursework in the Master of Management or MBA programs.
The EBS Master in Management is ranked 11th worldwide in the 2015 Financial Times Global Masters in Management Rankings. It scores well in the individual categories as well, ranked #4 worldwide for "Top for Corporate Strategy". EBS seeks to develop knowledgeable future leaders with skills having practical relevance. EBS has five core values; performance, responsibility, impact, diversity, and entrepreneurial spirit.
An EBS exchange is open to all degree-seeking graduate students within the School of Business.
LocationEBS is located in Oestrich-Winkel in the Rheingau region of Germany, a hub of economic development minutes away from Frankfurt by car, train, or bus. Free shuttle service is available to Frankfurt Rhine Main Airport. Frankfurt is the financial and transportation hub of Germany and one of the largest financial centers in Europe.
EBS follows a two semester schedule.
- Fall Semester: Late August - Mid December
- Spring Semester: Mid January – Late April
Exchange students enroll in classes through the Masters of Science in Management program. Students with at least 2 years of professional work experience are eligible to enroll in MBA classes. During the fall semester, exchange students may take core or elective coursework. During the spring semester, only elective coursework is available. Consult previous semester course listings HERE.

Language of Instruction
All graduate courses are offered in English. Intensive German Language courses are offered during the Fall & Spring semesters. All students from partner institutions are encouraged to participate in a free of cost in a German language course two weeks prior to the official start of the semester. Note that GWSB students cannot earn GW credits for participation in language coursework.
EBS does not offer on-campus housing. EBS Housing Office will contact all students after admissions to offer available and suitable flats and provide assistance to individually search for accommodation.
Exchange students have full access to the career center and individual coaching. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with The F. David Fowler Career Center prior to departure for the exchange.
