Global and Experiential Education Scholarships
The Global and Experiential Education office is committed to supporting students who pursue study away experiential education programs during their degree program by offering scholarships to participants in short-term study away programs. Students may also apply to the G&EE Blog Scholarship for which they will be required to blog about their experience in-country. One blogger will be selected for each program cycle (Winter Break, Spring Break and Summer). Students can apply to both the G&EE Study Away Scholarship and the blog scholarship, but one student cannot receive both scholarships.Eligibility
- Be a current GW student enrolled in a graduate degree program at the School of Business.
- Be accepted to participate in a G&EE short-term study away program.
- Commit to the G&EE short-term study away program in GW Passport and pay the $500 program deposit by the deadline.
- The G&EE scholarship is posted as a tuition award on students’ account for the semester they are enrolled in for their G&EE short-term program
- GW employees who receive tuition benefits and students who have their full tuition covered by tuition awards or scholarships are not eligible for the G&EE short-term study away scholarship.
- Other tuition awards or scholarships may be combined with the G&EE scholarship up to the cost of tuition. If a students’ tuition awards/scholarships and the G&EE scholarship exceed the total cost of tuition, the G&EE scholarship will be adjusted so that the student does not receive funding above the amount of tuition owed for the semester.
- The G&EE scholarship cannot be rolled over to future or past semesters.
- Students must provide G&EE with their 5 best photos from the program.
- Students are expected to volunteer for G&EE promotional events for study away programs.
- Students must submit 3 blog posts (one before, one during and one after the study away experience).
- Students must provide G&EE with their 5 best photos from the program.

- Students may only receive one G&EE short-term study away scholarship during their GW degree program.
- If the scholarship recipient withdraws from the G&EE short-term study away program, the scholarship will be revoked.
- Failure to fulfill the requirements of the G&EE short-term study away scholarship outlined above will result in the loss of the scholarship.
To apply for the G&EE short-term study away scholarship, students must answer the “Optional: G&EE Scholarship Application” question found in the online short-term program application.
