Students who successfully complete the Global Perspective Residency courses gain a first-hand understanding of how to effectively engage, communicate, and advocate in diverse cultures. 

Why London?
During our travel period in London, students will gain insights into successfully practicing statecraft and transatlantic relations in the United Kingdom from the exchange of ideas with business leaders, American diplomats, political leaders, and other key influencers in the region. The program will center on statecraft and the evolution of the modern U.K. with an emphasis on Winston Churchill's influence and contributions.  

What Will My Days Be Like in London?
The following is a sample itinerary for one day abroad:

9:30am-12:00pm: Advocacy and Communication in Direct Foreign Investment
12:30-2:00pm: Lunch at a British-American Business
2:30-4:00pm: Regional Insights from Public Affairs Professionals at a Major PR Firm like Edelman or Ogilvy
4:30-6:00pm: Visit to and Lecture at Westminster Palace
Evening: Dinner and Independent Activities


What are the Class and London Travel Dates?
Blackboard-Based Classes: Monday, February 21 - Saturday, March 19, 2022. Lectures, associated comprehension questions, and assignments will be made available on Blackboard. Due dates will be listed on the syllabus, with the final assignment due upon return from London.

Global Perspective Residency in London: Sunday, March 20 - Saturday, March 26, 2022
COVID-19 NOTICE: Due to continued uncertainty around the COVID-19 pandemic, travel to the United Kingdom is subject to change based on evolving University guidelines, as well as national and international travel regulations. Students will be notified immediately of any adjustments or changes to the program. All program fees will be fully refunded in the event of a cancellation of the in-person portion of the program.

Tuition: $5,295 ($1,765 per credit hour)
Program Fee: $1,500
Estimated Total on GW Bill: $6,795

All other expenses -- including airfare, non-group meals, non-group transportation, passport and visa fees, etc. -- will be sought out and paid by students directly and will not be billed through the university.
